Common Sense Birth Services is owned by Holly Deering, certified doula (Birth Arts International). Holly offers birth support services for women in Shreveport/ Bossier City, LA and the surrounding areas.
Holly is the mother of three little ones, ages 7, 4, 2.5 and a new one due in Nov 2013. The oldest two came to her through adoption and the youngest is a surprise homegrown baby. Holly and her husband Chris live with their three kids on Barksdale Air Force Base in North Louisiana.
"I became interested in the field of birth from years of research on the subject. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and I spent five years thinking on what I would do if I ever got pregnant! Once we became parents to our oldest kids, I got involved with La Leche League and learned more about our local options for birth. I completed my doula training while pregnant with my youngest son, in September of 2010. My certification was finalized in January 2013.
As a doula, I will assist you in learning about birth options, encourage you and your partner in your choices (and remind you of your rights) during your birth, and use non-medical comfort measures to support you."
